Esteemed colleagues of the forum, I would like to re-open the debate about this order, which has been discussed in many other forums, and has produced contrasting opinions. I would never say that a superficial judgment was given, but I can certainly say that such judgment was not discussed at all. I will not dwell on the clearly altered serial number and therefore I will refrain from commenting it. I will only take into account the photographic proofs due to which it can be argued the serial is original – the ones that show a serial number inexpertly tampered with scratches. In that regard, I would like to bring to your attention a set of serials belonging to the same interval of the order at issue: See attached image. (moderators please put it inline if possible) I will not enter into a debate about comparisons between such serials, because they are much more than evident and I regret not being able to show a greater number of specimens in a range so narrow (104xxx ). I would however like to ask you the following question: what kind of proofs do you have to support the originality of such a particular style of engraving, in the context of a markedly different style of engraving? I am looking forward to your thoughts and, if it is possible, I would like to see some photographic proofs that support your opinion. Thank you very much. Airon
