  1. Доброго времени суток! Хотел узнать у специалистов их мнение о данном комплекте униформы. Интересует также какая ribbon скорее всего отсутствует на кителе. Также привожу описание продавца к данному комплекту на e-bay: "This Army Lieutenant Colonel Master Aviator uniform is dated 1970 and is in remarkable condition. When reading the uniform we see he had 3 1/2 years in combat with at least one combat tour with Special Forces. Unit of assignment was HQ of 4th Infantry when uniform was retired. (based on patch and DUI) This uniform came with Aviation and MSC branch brass which make me wonder if he had a tour as a dust off pilot. The Air Medal with V device might support this. There is one ribbon missing off the ribbon rack but the uniform is otherwise intact. This gouping includes the tan poplin shirt, black tie, size 38 coat and 28 X31 pants. I added the hat to the display some years ago, so it is not original but is correct for the 4th ID assignment". Заранее огромное спасибо!
  2. Вот нашел в сети ранний вариант награды за кампанию во Въетнаме. Хозяин награды указал, что она выдавалась дословно - "мade during the War in downtown Siagon for a U.S. Soldier (Private Purchas)".
Если кому интересно, то вот что шло к описанию комплекта: "82nd Airborne First Sergeant Vietnam War Grouping 3rd Brigade / 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment Uniform, Visor Hat & Medals Operation Power Pack (1965) - Operation Carentan I & II Wounded in Action, Bronze Star Winner, Pathfinder!!! For Auction: First of all, let me say that I never thought I would ever offer this grouping up for sale, but I realized one thing a few days ago- I never have it on display and, quite honestly, with so many other collecting foci, I never really look at it. So, it is now up for auction with the intention that it will go where it can best be appreciated. Okay here we go. For some of you who belong to the militaria forums, you may recognize this uniform grouping. I was contacted by a friend at a thrift store when this grouping came in the door a few years back. It was simply dropped off at the front desk with everything you see included. The store policy is to strip all insignia, but my buddy couldn't do it and contacted me. I have not had the uniform cleaned, as it seemed it was fairly clean right from the get go. I was able to find quite a bit of information on the 3/505 (including the April 1968 Situation Report - included with this auction), but I never was able to pinpoint a name. It shouldn't be that difficult, I have just spent time researching too many other items. Let me begin: Included in this auction is one Class A uniform including coat, visor cap and trousers that belonged to a first sergeant in the 3/505th PIR. The hat is very nice with a size 7, the trousers were very well cared for and are dated to the early 1960s (another pair of trousers dated to 1972 were virtually destroyed with rips and tears so they were discarded), and the coat is spectacular ("wow!" was my first reaction when I saw it). The coat is dated to 1975 and is a size 38R (probably his mustering out coat). A small box that accompanied the set included several medals and pins- these are included as well. The Coat: This coat has every bell and whistle, which usually signifies a red flag for me- if I didn't know the source. I can guarantee this piece is 100% untouched. What we have is a double 82nd Airborne patched (machine sewn), first sergeant (machine sewn stripes) coat that shows two service bars for 12 months of overseas service (machine sewn), 7 harsh marks ( machine sewn) for 21 years of federal service, and combat leader loops fastened to the shoulder loops by two 82nd Airborne Distinctive Unit Insignia. The uniform sports infantry silver style clutchback collar brass and a light blue infantry shoulder cord. The uniforms also has an expert marksman badge for grenade and rifle. Furthermore, this man was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge and Pathfinder badge as well. To top of the badges, this first sergeant was also a master parachutist (clutchback) and displayed his jump "wings" on a nice 505th flash. Concerning ribbonry, he was awarded the Bronze Star, the medal for wounds received in action, the Army Commendation Medal with oak leaf cluster, the Good Conduct medal with knots, the National Service Medal, the Expeditionary Forces Medal, the Vietnam Service medal with two battle stars, and the Vietnam Campaign medal. The uniform also has a Meritorious Unit Citation with oak leaf cluster. Basically it has everything. Now, to be honest, the only thing that has ever left a question in my mind is the Good Conduct ribbon. It shows only two knots for a man that should have six (six additional awards beyond the first). When asking around, it was suggested that perhaps at one time one of the knots was given a silver tone to represent five knots. I see no evidence of that on the ribbon. The Extras: Okay, now onto the extras that came with the uniform. In a small box that accompanied the uniform, these items were found: the First Sergeant's Army Commendation Medal (with lapel pin and miniature's ribbon), a Bronze Star, an unnamed medal for Military Merit (with lapel pin and miniature device - nice condition on the enamel), a National Defense medal (with an extra without ribbon), a ribbon drape for the Vietnam Service medal, two extra clutchback distinctive unit insignia for the 82nd Airborne, and two US collar brasses on infantry disks. The History: Researching the service history of this uniform did not take long as the 82nd Airborne was a storied unit during the 1960s (and every decade before and after in my opinion). By looking at the ribbonry and details given by the coat, this man participated in 1965's Operation Powerpack (Dominican Republic) and followed the 3/505 PIR to Vietnam where it played a key role in several operations and stood strong during the 1968 TET offensive. I will include several pages of write-ups concerning the unit's history. Many of the unit's situation reports are available through online sources".
